A Living Relationship

But if you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29

Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Matthew 23:37

In Christ, our God walked this earth and lived our trials and temptations. Then in His death and resurrection, He sealed our eternity with Him which is something that we never could have done on our own. Finally, He promised never to leave us, nor forsake us.

Our God is a God who shows Himself to us daily. He does this in so many different ways; First and foremost through His Word, but also through other means like in the beauty and complexity of His creation, and through fellow believers. In His Word we see him intimately as He longs to comfort us and rejoice with us. He is a God of the living and He loves to walk with us in our earthly journey – whether through our trials or our joys, our pain or our victories. He loves when we come to Him like a little child confessing our weaknesses and sins, and He longs to change our hearts. However, for many, it is so easy to miss His blessings and conversations with all the busyness and noise of our lives.

God desires your heart and a living relationship with you, while you walk these days here on Earth. Give of yourself to Him – seek Him, trust Him, thank Him – and may you more clearly see Him and His blessings and presence in your life. That is God’s desire for you, until you meet Him face to face, and He is faithful to fulfill His promises. That doesn’t mean pain or grief will never cross your path and enter your life or the lives of your loved ones, but it does mean that He will walk with you through it. It is during these darkest times when you may feel Him the closest.

Prayer: LORD, please stir my heart and mind to you this day; to seek your guidance, to trust your promises and to see your blessings. You sent Jesus to seal my salvation while I was still a sinner, because of your love for me. How much more would you not be faithful in my days? May the Holy Spirit convict and strengthen me to be able to seek You first and live in Your presence and peace today and always. AMEN

Reflection: Take time today to STOP and listen for Him, STOP and look for Him, then STOP and give Him thanks for at least one blessing in your life.
