Get Set to Give Thanks Now and For Eternity

Good day friends! November is Thanksgiving month. Ready, Set, Go! Last week we pondered God’s blessings in our life and took time to give Him thanks and praise each day for them. Let us continue to ponder this week as well. Also, let us set our hearts on the one from whom we’ve received the greatest blessing and deserves our unending thanks.

Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the Lord. This is the gate of the Lord through which the righteous may enter. I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation. The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. The Lord has done it this very day;  let us rejoice today and be glad. Psalm 118: 19-24

“Where, O death, is your victory?  Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5

Everything this world has will pass away. We came into this world with nothing and we will leave everything of this world behind. But this world is not the be all and end all. Thanks be to God for his love for us – you and me – that brought us back into his presence, now and for eternity.

Our sin separates us from Him and there is nothing we can do about it. On our own, we are destined to Hell – our eternal separation from God Almighty. But praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love, he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. (Ephesians 1:3-8)

In Christ all of humankind’s sin has been redeemed. God has done it because of his love for us – for you and me. In faith and gratitude, give all glory, praise and thanksgiving to our most Gracious God. Thank you Lord for Jesus! God’s continued blessings be yours this week, my friend! Brenda
